Does anybody have a photograph(s) of the Queens Hill Park/Estate taken before WW2? Of particular interest would be a shot of the principal house. Scanned image(s) acceptable.

Does anyone know the location of Lowood (Low Wood or Low-Wood perhaps?) House? My Grandfather owned the property during the last War (Maj D E Dixon, Grenadier Guards) and my father was born there in 1943. I lived in Sunninghill for a year but was never able to locate it - can anyone help? Thanks

I am trying to contact my friend, Philippa Verry, who I have lost contact with. I moved from Ascot in 1980 and have lost touch with her, but will be back in England in mid-July and would like to meet her. Thank you in advance for forwarding my contact information to her.

If my information is correct, some years ago the ladies of Windlesham made a quilt with oak leaves and acorn motifs. It was featured in a magazine at that time and I had the cutting. I should be grateful if one of its makers would send me a picture and the story behind the quilt. I am a quilter myself and thought the block was beautiful even from the tiny cutting I had.

Hi, i am trying to find out if anyone has researched men and women of Virginia Water that were killed in the Second World War? I am researching aircraft crashes in Shropshire and one of the pilots that was killed was F/Lt Roy Harold Phillips (138663), RAFVR, aged 23. He was the Son of Harold Alexander and Marie Ethel Phillips, of Virginia Water, Surrey; husband of Marjorie Eileen Phillips.
I am wondering if anyone can help with any further information on this pilot? Perhaps somebody has researched war time casualties? I would be very grateful for any help. Many thanks, Tom

Hello, I am trying to find out any information on a stately home near Ascot, it's name is Queens Hill. I am doing family research and am desperate to find information on staff in the 1930s. In particular John Hodgson who I believe was a footman. Any information at all on the house, area family who owned it etc will be extremely welcome. Many thanks

I have a mystery which I have been unable to resolve.
Some years ago I acquired a letter which was supposedly written by a relative of Lord Roberts.
The address is 70 Chester Square, SW1 and the phone no is Victoria 8067. It is dated October 23rd 1923
Dear Sir,
I am sorry to say that I have not got an autograph of either my Father or brother by me here, but if you would like to write to me again after the New Year to my home at Englemere, Ascot where I shall be returning. I shall be glad to send you these. Yours Truly Roberts.
As far as I know Lord Roberts two sons predeceased him and he died in 1914.
Can anyone help please.
Many thanks
Ian Sayer
