My great great great Grandfather was Lord Roberts of Kandahar and now that I am retired I would like to leave as much information as I can for my Grandchildren, I know that a lady used to visit my great grandmother and believe she was titled and travelled with a lady companion to Bramley near Leeds where my great grandparents lived. All I know is that she was a Lady and came from "down South", I am guessing that she lived at Englemere and was the elder daughter of Lord Roberts and am assuming that My great Grandmother was her sister who was born just over the Scottish Border, Again I am guessing that it would be Coldstream, If you can throw any more light on my family connections I would be most grateful.

I am doing a family search and have received documents that indicate that my Grandmother lived in ?Old Huntsman?s House, Ascot, Berkshire.? Doing a web search for the name, it brought me to your site. My Grandmother lived there in the early 1930?s (1932 for sure) Do you have any idea whom I could contact to find out the owner of the property at that time?

My name is Rex Auton, the youngest of a large family that lived in South Ascot. My dad was a railway engine driver and we left Ascot in 1930 for dad to go on the electric railway at Slades Green near Erith Kent. I was only four years old when we left and would like to contact any one that has family that can recall those times.
